Tree Topping

Safe height reduction and shaping

Careful reduction and crown shaping to keep trees healthy, safe and in proportion.

Overgrown trees block light, drop branches and crowd a garden. We reduce height, shape crowns and clear dangerous limbs with the right gear and full clean up, so your trees stay safe and looking their best.

What you get

  • More light into the garden and house
  • Lower risk of falling limbs in storms
  • Healthier, better balanced trees
  • All cuttings removed and chipped

Frequently Asked Questions

Done correctly, a proper crown reduction or crown lift keeps the tree healthy. We make clean cuts at the right growth points to minimise stress and encourage balanced regrowth — we do not simply lop branches.
In most cases no, but if your tree is covered by a Tree Preservation Order or you are in a conservation area you will need council consent before any work is carried out. We can advise when we visit.
We chip or remove all waste from site. If you would like the chippings kept for your garden as mulch, just let us know and we will leave them bagged up.
Autumn and winter — outside the bird nesting season of March to August — are ideal. We work year-round but will flag any active nesting if we spot it during spring or summer visits.
Yes, we carry out full removals as well as reductions and crown lifts. We will assess the safest approach when we see the tree and explain the options.
